Nancy Lee Jors was born January 1, 1948, at Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Nora Kroeger. She passed away Monday, June 4, 2018, at Heritage Heights in Denison, Iowa, at the age of seventy.
Nancy was baptized in Christ at the Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church in Schleswig, Iowa, March 14, 1948, and confirmed her faith at that same church April 15, 1962. She received her education in the Schleswig Community Schools and graduated from Schleswig High School with the class of 1966. During her high school years Nancy worked at her grandfather’s drug store in Schleswig. She was united in marriage to Gerald Jors February 11, 1978, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. They made their home in Denison where Nancy was employed at Farmland Foods, now known as Smithfield. She also did housecleaning and was employed at the Denison Care Center.
Gardening, fishing, and hunting with family and friends were Nancy's favorite pastimes when she was younger. Later in life she grew fond of hallmark and lifetime movies to pass the time. Holidays were always very festive thanks to her love of decorating and cooking. Nancy found great comfort in tending her plants, but she also enjoyed socializing with her friends at Heritage Heights and Eventide. They would often gather to play bingo and conversation. She was a steadfast woman who valued honesty.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; son, Mike; and sister, Vanessa. Survivors include: one step-daughter, Michelle and her husband, Jason; step-granddaughter, Megan; grandsons, Luke and Lance; one brother, Mike and his wife, Susan; one brother-in-law, Ben “Sonny”; other relatives and friends.
