Norma Kraus

Norma Mae Kraus was born July 29, 1929, the daughter of Vernet, Sr. and Mary Lou Samuelson Tech. She passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011, at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of 82.
Norma was born in Charter Oak, Iowa. She attended the Charter Oak Community Schools graduating with the class of 1947. She taught country school for five years and also worked at Eventide Lutheran Home as Activity Director, Denison Job Corp, and Wesco Sheltered Workshop. She was united in marriage to Earl Gollhofer in 1949 and to this union were born four children. She married Paul Kraus on February 17, 1979, in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Denison.
Norma was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, Iowa, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She joined Zion Lutheran Church when she moved to Denison. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing roses, and playing cards.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul in 2008; one son in infancy, Steven; one sister, Betty; one sister-in-law, Mabel; one brother-in-law, Edmund; one stepson, Jimmy; and two stepdaughters-in-law, Nancy and Kathy. She is survived by one daughter, Susan; two sons: Scott; and Stan and his wife, Connie; five grandchildren; Jake, Cody, Nicole, Kimberly, and Adam; three brothers: Vernet, Jr.; Duane, and Dennis and his wife, Camille; one sister, Phyllis and special friend, Don; four stepsons: Norman; Ronald and his wife, Tammy; Mark and his wife, Jamie; and Jerry; three stepdaughters: Sandy and her husband, Buzz; Sheila and her husband, Mark; Joyce; twenty-two stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
