Oliver "Tex" Reese Osborn was born on September 23, 1943 to the late Oliver and Ruby (McMahan) Osborn in McKinney, Texas. He received his education at McKinney High School.
On December 26, 1968, Tex was united in marriage to Jane Beam in Storm Lake, Iowa. To this union, they were blessed with three daughters: Michelle, Maretta, and Maurecia. For the first five years of Tex and Jane's marriage, they traveled following the pipeline from Canada all the way to Mexico. In 1973, they made their home in Arion, Iowa.
In the early 1960's, he became a heavy equipment operator for the pipeline in Minnesota and that's where he earned the nickname Tex. Over the years, he continued to work for the pipeline by driving truck and hauling heavy equipment throughout the United States. He moved to Omaha in the early 1990's and worked for M&S Grading and Kiewit and Sons until his retirement.
When his girls were younger, he would take them out of school to treat them on his way through town. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching football. He also enjoyed traveling, attending rodeos, and watching truck shows. In later years, he attended the rodeos in Omaha and made trips to Dallas to visit family. He was the person to always call if you ever got lost or needed directions. He cherished his family more than anything.
Tex passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Hillcrest Health and Rehab in Bellevue, Nebraska, attaining the age of seventy-eight years, five months, and one day. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughters: Michelle and her husband Denny Fineran of Denison, Maretta and her fiancé Darren Thompson of Denison, and Maurecia and her fiancé Drew Young of Council Bluffs; brother, Larry Osborn of Plano, Texas and his daughter, Sandy and her husband Jeff Floyd of Parker, Texas; special friend, Annie Renshaw of Carter Lake, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
