Patty Lechtenberg

Patty Ann Lechtenberg was born March 22, 1959, the daughter of Myrl and Sylvia Rathgeber Hight. She passed away at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, on April 9, 2012, at the age of 53.
Patty was born in Jefferson, Iowa, and baptized in Christ in April 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bayard, Iowa. She moved from Bayard to Schleswig, Iowa, with her family in 1967 and was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig on April 15, 1973. Patty graduated from Schleswig High School with the class of 1977 and was employed at Farmland Foods from 1978 to 1988 and from 1988 to the present has owned and operated her home daycare business. Patty was united in marriage to Ronald Lechtenberg on April 11, 1981, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and this union was blessed with the birth of three children.
Patty was a caring wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed going to family events and her childrens and her daycare childrens sporting events. She cared for many children in her home over the past 24 years and established many close relationships with these families. Patty was a very social lady and looked forward to girls night out on Monday nights with friends. She liked to travel on family vacations to Branson and just recently she and Rex returned from a trip to Hawaii. Pattys favorite pastime activities included going to craft shows, dancing, listening to country music, Facebook, and playing Farmville on the computer. Patty was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Denison.
Patty was preceded in death by her grandson, Logan; and one brother in infancy, Carl. Survivors include her husband Ron; two sons, Lucas and his wife, Amy; and Austin and his wife, Leah; one daughter, Emily at home; four grandchildren, Landen, Lauren, Owen, and Olivia; her parents, Myrl and Sylvia; two brothers, LeRoy and his wife, Marlene; and Lyle and his wife, Madeline; three sisters, Judy and her husband, Dan; Violet and her husband, Doug; and Susan and her husband, Ron; other relatives and friends.
