Paul W Bockelmann

Paul Walter Bockelmann was born March 19, 1945 in Ute, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Lydia Bockelmann. He died Monday, September 7, 2015 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of seventy.
Paul began school in 1951 at St. John’s Lutheran School in Charter Oak. He attended school there through eighth grade and then transferred to Charter Oak Public School where he graduated in 1963. Right after graduation, Paul started working for Denison Hide Company, a division of IBP, in Denison Iowa. He was drafted in 1965 and was stationed at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri. In 1967, he was discharged and returned to work at Denison Hide.
On June 15, 1968, Paul was united in marriage to Judith E. Boettger at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. They made their home in Charter Oak, Iowa and were blessed with the birth of two sons, Scott and Todd.
Paul was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He and Judy had recently moved to Elkhorn, Nebraska to be closer to family. Paul enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching football, baseball, as well as Western television shows and movies. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lydia; stepmother, Phyllis; one brother, Larry; father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Helen; sister-in-law, Marlene and brother-in-law, Henry (Butch). He is survived by his wife, Judy; two sons: Scott and his wife, Kelly; Todd and his wife, Kristie; one grandson, Zachary son of Scott and Kelly; nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.
