Paula M. Segebart

Paula Marie Segebart was born December 25, 1948, in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Margaret Keesling. She passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of seventy.
Paula was baptized in Christ January 30, 1949, at Faith Lutheran Church in Deloit and confirmed her faith there April 15, 1962. She received her kindergarten to 3rd grade education at Franklin School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Her family then moved to Deloit, where she continued education through 7thgrade at the Deloit Elementary School. She graduated in 1967 from the Denison High School. Paula furthered her education at Iowa Western Community College receiving a Practical Nursing diploma in 1968 and an Associate of Applied Science degree in 2002. She was employed for many years as a nurse at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital and at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison.
On May 15, 1971, Paula was united in marriage to Jerald “Jerry” Segebart. They made their home outside Deloit and were blessed with the birth of two daughters, Kelly and Jeri Lynn.
In Paula’s spare time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, puzzles and word search puzzles. She also enjoyed playing Rummy with her family which she won very frequently. Paula also enjoyed traveling. She made many trips to see her daughter, Jeri Lynn and family while Chris was in the U. S. Air Force. She visited Washington, Kansas and Missouri during this time. She also went on trips with her daughter Kelly and family to Cancun, Jamaica and her favorite, Disney World.
Paula had a forthright and stern personality. Underneath she was very loving and compassionate. She enjoyed having her family around her. The time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren she treasured the most.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerry in 2018. Survivors include: two daughters, Kelly and her husband, Steve, and Jeri Lynn and her husband, Chris; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; four brothers: Stephen and his wife, Jackie, Iowa, Gary and his wife, Deb and Loren, and Kevin and his wife, Cassandra; two sisters, Denise and Dawn and her husband, Mark; sister-in-law, Carol; other relatives and friends.
