Peggy Mulligan

Peggy E. Mulligan was born January 20, 1949, the daughter of Charles and Margaret Parker Rickabaugh. She passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of sixty-five.
Peg was born in Luton, Iowa. She received her education from the Sgt. Bluff - Luton Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1967. After graduation she worked in the Sioux City area.
On March 16, 1973, Peg was united in marriage to John Mulligan. The couple made their home in Denison, Iowa, where they lived for forty years and were blessed with two sons, John C. (J.C.) and Nathan Mulligan.
Peg started working for H & R Block in 1980, a career that lasted seventeen years, until she bought the franchise in 1997. She owned and operated the business for an additional seventeen years. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, S.S. Leader, Sunday School Secretary, Circle Member and Leader. She served on various committees including Soccer League, Little League, and was a member of the Denison Chamber of Commerce. In her leisure time, Peg enjoyed reading, crocheting, occasional visits to casinos and being with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother. Survivors include her loving husband, John of nearly forty-one years; two sons, John C. (J.C.) Mulligan of Manning and Nathan Mulligan of Omaha, Nebraska; two sisters, Sandra Swanger and her husband, Doug of LeMars; and Shelli Beebe and her husband, Keith of Luton, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Boell of Manilla and Connie Mulligan of Deloit; several nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
