Phyllis J. Weathermon

Phyllis Jean Weathermon, age 78, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Mrs. Weathermon, daughter of Chester and Mable (Peterson) Slechta, was born on February 17, 1941 in Denison, Iowa. On December 31, 1961, she was united in marriage to Eddie Hillhouse; he preceded her in death in 1971. Mrs. Weathermon enjoyed music, gardening, and cooking. She was a very selfless, loving and giving person who loved her family dearly. Mrs. Weathermon was a friend to many, and so many have been blessed by knowing her.
Survivors include one son, Tim Hillhouse, of Cassville; three daughters, Tarrie Ruark and her husband Jerry, of Washburn, EdDee May Hillhouse, of Cassville, and Tina Hillhouse, of Overland Park, Kansas; one step-son, Jack Weathermon and his wife Jan, of Hurley; two step-daughters, Lesa Henson and her husband Keith and Tracy Flood and her late husband, Don, all of Hurley; ten grandchildren, Alison Blair and her husband Cameron, Adam Ruark and his wife Amanda, Jordan Ruark and his wife Susan, Kayla Tolliver and her husband Chase, Brooklyn Hunter and her husband Andrew, Alice Oropeza, Tony Sizemore, Ashley Sizemore and her wife Miriah, and Mandi Dunfee and her husband Chase, and Chris Hillhouse; five great-grandchildren, Stella Ruark, Paizlee Hunter, William Tolliver, Emalyn Tolliver and Katelynn Tolliver; five brothers, Dennis Slechta, of Albany, New York, Darrell Slechta, of Denison, Iowa, James Riley, of Waxahachie, Texas, Mike Riley, of Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Ron Slechta, of Kalona, Iowa; one sister, Ann Slater, of Woodbine, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Edward Hillhouse; one granddaughter, Angel Dawn Sizemore; three brothers, Jerry Slechta, Brad Riley, and one at infancy; and two sisters, Ruby Christensen and Alice Mead.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with memories shared by family and friends at 7:00 p.m. at the White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville.
A family burial will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Oakland Cemetery in Denison, Iowa.
Service arrangements and cremation are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
