Randall “Will” James Holdsworth was born October 4, 1954, in Denison, Iowa, the son of Melvin and Clarion Holdsworth. He died at the Denison Care Center, Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the age of sixty-two following a sixteen-month long courageous battle with brain cancer.
Randall was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla and received his education at Manilla Community School graduating with the class of 1973. He subsequently studied agriculture at Iowa State University. Following this, he farmed with his father near Manilla and was employed by Western Engineering of Harlan, Manilla Fertilizer Company and Boyer Valley Veterinary Service. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, fishing and reading. He was a lifelong Iowa Cyclone Fan as well as a fan of whoever was playing the Dallas Cowboys. He suffered renal failure when he was 49 years old requiring dialysis, and had a kidney transplant when he was 53 years old. Despite his health issues, Randall was always in good spirits and ready to help anyone in need especially with their computer. He also enjoyed spending time and helping out at the Kandy Kitchen.
Randall was preceded in death by his grandparents. Survivors include his parents: Melvin and Clarion; two sisters, Rhonda and husband Doyle; and Diane and husband Dave; two nieces, Jessica and her husband Jordan;and Elizabeth; and nephew: James; other relatives and friends
