Randall Alan Lilleholm was born October 9, 1955, the son of Earl and Alvina Poggensee Lilleholm. He passed away at his home as the result of an accident on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at the age of fifty-six.
Randy was born in Denison, Iowa, and received his education in the Denison Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1973. He helped on the family farm growing up and also owned his own salvage business. He took over the family farm when his father Earl passed away in 1977. Randy began his own salvage yard business in 1972 and was the first registered tire recycler in Iowa.
Randy was united in marriage to Jean Reiff on August 22, 1977, and to this union was born one daughter, Tracy. On August 20, 1992, Randy was united in marriage to Mary Hennings in Jamaica, West Indies, and to this union two sons were born, Jesse and Colton.
Randy was a good man with a tender heart and gave a lot of himself to others. He enjoyed being involved with and giving to many charitable activities and also volunteered on many city projects. Randy was a mentor to a multiple number of young people that he called his kids and had a special way of making his nieces and nephews feel like his own children. He had a great sense of humor and liked to play practical jokes on family and friends, including putting toilets where they didnt belong. He was also known to many of his friends as "Uncle Buck." Randy loved farming and raising cattle, and through his tractor salvage business, many more friendships were formed. He enjoyed socializing with friends and would talk to anyone he encountered. He also liked to fish and bowl, participating in the National Bowling Tournament for 16 years, traveling all over the country. He was NASCAR certified and raced in Denison and Harlan. Randy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Denison. Randy will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend of anyone who knew him.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Earl in 1977; and one nephew, Chris in 2007. He is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Tracy and her husband, Andrew; two sons, Jesse and Colton, three grandchildren: Morgan, Allison and Joseph; his mother, Alvina; two sisters, Earlene and Zelda and her husband, Jack; many other relatives, his "adopted kids," and friends.
