Raymond Carl Schuldt, son of August and Elsie Schuldt, was born April 8, 1916, in East Boyer Township, Crawford County, Iowa. He passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Eventide in Denison, Iowa, at the age of one hundred two.
Raymond was baptized in Christ at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla June 3, 1916, by Rev. Wendt and was confirmed at that same church May 10, 1931, by Rev. Israel. Following his education at country school in East Boyer Township, he worked at home with his parents. On May 24, 1944, he was united in marriage to Helen Hass, daughter of Julius and Lena Hass, by Rev. Carl Schmidt, and the couple was blessed with the birth of one daughter, Darlene. He later farmed his parents’ farm and lived there until 1980 when he moved to Denison.
He loved to play cards, bingo, go bowling and do lawn work and he never missed watching a Cardinals baseball game. He was very proud of winning awards at the Crawford County Fair which included: four years for being the oldest at the fair, six years for coming to the fair the most number of years and six years for living in Crawford County the longest. In 2016-2017, he received a Certificate of Recognition of Centenarian.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Helen. Survivors include: one daughter, Darlene; one brother-in-law, Merlin; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
