Raymond Louis Segebart was born April 4, 1926, the son of Louis and Ida Hoffmeier Segebart. He passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-six.
Raymond was born on a farm near Denison, Iowa. He was baptized in Christ at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison on April 25, 1926, and later confirmed there on March 29, 1942. He received his education in a rural school near his home and began working for area farmers.

Raymond loved working and tending his cattle. Besides farming he enjoyed purchasing homes in Denison and Dow City, refurbishing them and reselling them. In his leisure time he enjoyed socializing with family and friends in a game of cards or just sitting watching people drive by the home place or the birds in their feeders. He also enjoyed trips with the neighbors, attending the Clay County Fair in Spencer, Iowa, traveling to Pennsylvania, the West Coast, and Branson, Missouri. In his younger years, Raymond and Mary enjoyed dancing.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alfred and Donald Segebart. Survivors include his wife, Mary of Denison, formerly of Dow City; three sons, Dale and his wife, Phyliss of Denison; Stanley and his wife, Kelly of Altoona; and Stuart and his wife, Debra of Clairton, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Segebart of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Harold Segebart and his wife, Bonnie of Denison; and two sisters, Arlene Spahn of Kansas City, Missouri; and Mary Ann Segebart of Denver, Colorado; other relatives and friends.
