Regina Josephine Schierbrock was born December 10, 1941, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Elmer and Mary Reed. She passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of seventy-six.
Jean received her education in Colorado and graduated from Englewood High School in 1959. She continued her education at Western State College, graduating in 1963. Jean taught school in Las Vegas, Nevada, for two years and then taught for twelve years in Aurora, Colorado. On August 12, 1978, she was united in marriage to Joe Schierbrock at St. Louis Catholic Church in Englewood, Colorado officiated by Father Cooper and Father Ryberg. They returned to Vail, Iowa, where the couple settled on the farm and raised their family.
Jean was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail. Dancing in Arcadia and at the Five Mile House gave her many favorable times. She enjoyed fishing and camping at Black Hawk Lake and in the Colorado mountains at Red Feather and other places. She also enjoyed cheering on the Denver Broncos and watching the Hallmark channel. She particularly enjoyed the music of Daniel O'Donnell, Celtic Thunder, and Andre Rieu. Her most pleasurable moments, however, were times spent together with family.
Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Robert and Edward. Survivors include: her husband, Joe; two daughters, MaryAnn and her husband, Kevin, and Suzanne and her husband, Nathan; three grandchildren, Alexander, Jackson and Adelaide; three brothers, Gilbert and his wife, Bernadette, James and special friend, Diana, and Anthony and his wife, Cindy; and other relatives and friends.
