Richard A. Hupp

Richard Allen Hupp was born March 4, 1944, the son of Opal and Harry Hupp. He passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at his home in Schleswig, Iowa, at the age of seventy-five.
Richard received his education in the Grand Junction, Iowa, school. He married the love of his life, Judith Ann DeSart on September 28, 1963, in Lanesboro, Iowa. They lived in Scranton, Iowa, where he farmed for twenty years and then moved to Denison, Iowa, where he worked at Farmland Foods until retiring in Schleswig.
He loved gardening and took special care of his garden. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed taking fishing trips to Minnesota with Judy, Rich and Wanda, also taking vacation trips to the Iowa State Fair yearly and following the Mississippi River on a vacation with Judy, Bob and Marilyn. He loved gathering every Saturday to play cards with his wife and Ramona, Bob and Marilyn. Other hobbies were watching and helping his great-grandson Tristan race his Figure 8 car, going deer hunting with his in-laws and son-in-law and bowling with the Rebel League for many years.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy and her husband Gene and June and her husband Ralph; one brother, Delbert; one granddaughter, Kacy; one great-granddaughter; father-in-law Lawrence; mother-in-law Helen; brothers-in-law Bob, Rich and George; and two sisters-in-law Wanda and Sharon. He is survived by his wife, Judith; two daughters, Dawn and husband Dean and Debbie and husband, Mike; eight grandchildren: Amber, Kasie, Ashly, Courtney, Ethan, Krystal, Carl and Ben; nine great-grandchildren: Tristan, Sydney, Savannah, Keith, Desmond, Desiree, Jayden, Xander and Lydia; one sister, Mary Lou and husband Delos; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Ramona; many nieces, nephews and friends.
