Richard Dennis Pedersen

Richard "Rick" Dennis Pedersen was born on August 16, 1951 to Lawrence and Irene (Olson) Pedersen in Denison. He received his early education from Dow City Elementary School and graduated from Charter Oak Ute High School. He then worked for Iowa Beef Processors in Denison for several years. Rick suffered a tragic car accident, which changed his life, on the day he was to be married in 1971.

Rick enjoyed classic cars. He also enjoyed baking cookies and bread. His favorite things were Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and cheeseballs. He was a very relaxed and easy-going man.

Rick passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 15 days.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Connie, Sharon, Howard and Leo. He is survived by his son, Brent (DeeDee) Pedersen of Texas; two grandchildren: Matthew and Peyton; brother, Larry Pedersen of Ute; nephew, Jake (Arielle) Pedersen of Underwood; two great-nieces and great-nephew: Macy, Aiden, and Riley Pedersen; and many other relatives and friends.

The memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. The graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. also on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Soldier Lutheran Cemetery in Soldier. Memorials may be directed to the family.
