Richard Schwery

Richard Melvin Schwery, Sr. was born February 27, 1954, the son of LeVern and Cecilia Petsche Schwery. He passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at his home in Vail, Iowa, at the age of sixty.
Richard was born in Carroll, Iowa. He received his education in St. Ann’s Catholic School and the Denison High School. After completing his education Richard was employed at IBP and APC in Denison, Iowa. Due to failing health he retired from APC. In May 1975, Richard was united in marriage to Barb Lafranze. To this union three children were born, Charity, Jennifer and Richard, Jr.
Richard was a lifelong member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail. He enjoyed his family. Loved playing pool, arm wrestling and playing cards with his nieces and nephews. He treasured the time he spent with friends from Vail, around the county and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; LeVern and Cecilia; one brother, Galen and his wife, Betty; one sister, Carol; and brother-in-law, Virg. Survivors include: his children, Charity , Jennifer and Richard; one sister Nancy; 4 brothers Mark and his wife, Betty; John and his wife, Ann; Roger; Dale and his wife, Sue; a brother-in-law, Jerry.
