Richard Webb

Richard Orville Webb was born on June 4, 1949, the son of Orville H. and LaGene (Hanigan) Webb in Denison, Iowa. He was baptized and later confirmed at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison. Richard received his education from Denison High School and the University of Northern Iowa.

Richard worked as a social worker throughout his life. He enjoyed home improvement projects, riding his motorcycle and golfing. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family.

Richard passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa at the age of 74 years, seven months and 22 days.

Richard was preceded in death by his father; nephew, Michael Heistand; and brothers-in-law: John Bartlett and Hugh Hayes. He is survived by his sons: Luke (Angela) Webb of Waterloo and Garet Webb of Santa Monica, California; mother, LaGene Webb of Denison; two grandchildren: Lily and Luna; siblings: Kathleen Hayes of Texas, Mary Grace Bartlett of Council Bluffs, Jack (Terri) Webb of Denison, Jeanne (Craig) Konrady of Evansdale, and Elizabeth Webb of Des Moines; mother of Richard's children, Carol Webb; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Denison. Memorials may be directed to the family.
