Robert Beeck

Robert Fred Beeck was born April 5, 1937, to parents, Fred and Lillian Jepsen Beeck at their home near Schleswig, Iowa. He passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of seventy-three.
Robert was baptized in Christ at the Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church in Schleswig on June 13, 1937. He was confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig on June 14, 1959.
He attended Schleswig Elementary School and graduated from Schleswig High School in 1955 where he continued to work as a janitor until he joined the Navy a year later. He was in the Navy for two years and then came home and worked at Farmland for approximately two years after which he began his farming career. He was forced to retire early from farming in 1997 when he suddenly became ill with chronic myelogenous leukemia as well as lost the majority of his eyesight from complications of diabetes along with numerous other health issues.
On November 1, 1959, Bob was united in marriage to Janet Teut. The couple was blessed with three children, Trevis, Paige and Justin.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who thoroughly enjoyed his children and grandchildren. They were the highlight of his life. He looked forward to listening to or attending his grandchildrens sporting activities. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, dancing, especially polka and waltzing, playing cards, and attending all types of sporting events. After retirement he liked spending time at the Farmers Feed Mill at "the round table," playing cards, listening to ball games and polka music, as well as attending Bible classes. He served as Elder and Trustee at Immanuel Lutheran Church, as a member of the American Legion in Schleswig, and a member of the Schleswig Community Club.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lillian Beeck; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin and Clara Teut; one brother, Larry Beeck and his wife, Jolene; one sister-in-law, Joy Dean Baak; one brother-in-law, Tex Gilmore; and one grandson, Dakota. Survivors include his wife, Janet of Schleswig; two sons: Trevis Beeck and his wife, Laura; and Justin Beeck and his wife, Dayna, all of Denison; one daughter, Paige Evans and her husband, Chandler of Ankeny; six grandchildren: Taelor, Alexa, Destry, Tyler, Abigail and Kyleigh; one brother, Art Beeck and his wife, Lorraine of Charter Oak; three sisters: Judy Strandburg and her husband, Larry of Schleswig; Jane Dowty and her husband, Douglas of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; and Lorna Gilmore and her friend, Art of Dunlap, Iowa; two sisters-in-law: Barb Beeck of Waterloo, Iowa; and Marti Lenz of Omaha, Nebraska; many other relatives and friends.
