Robert Philip Siemer was born September 23, 1920, the son on Herman and Gertrude Siemer. He passed away Saturday, December, 13, 2014, at the Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of ninety-four.
Robert was born in Dunlap, Iowa. On November 23, 1944, Robert was United in Marriage to Mardella Steensen in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the couple was blessed with the birth of three sons. In 1956, the couple moved to Council Bluffs where they owned and operated Bob’s Tavern, moving to Omaha, Nebraska in 1960.
Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a handy man who always had spare parts to give to anyone in need. He also recycled metal and could be found at Horseman’s Park in Omaha wagering on the horses. He enjoyed going to the V.F.W. for the pancake breakfast with his family and socializing with family and friends. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. Saturdays he could be found watching the Huskers play with his granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Mardella, in 2012; one son, Philip; three brothers: Frank, Raymond, and Joe; five sisters: Ann, Agnita , Peg, Eleanor and Dolly. Robert is survived by two sons: Doug; Dan and his wife, Rose; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
