Robin Leslie Buchanan was born August 28, 1955, at Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Lois Buchanan. She passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017, at her home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of sixty-one.
Robin received her education in the Denison Community Schools graduating with the Class of 1973. She attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge majoring in Fashion Merchandising. She went on to receive an Associate of Arts Degree at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Denison in 1998, graduating with honors, Phi Theta Kappa with a 4.0 grade point average. Continuing her education at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1999.
Her employment history led her to many different vocations and locations which included Edward Jones in Denison, Yankey Travel in Denison, Dain Bosworth in Sioux City, KDSN in Denison, where she was known as Rockin Robin, Snelling in Omaha, Ames Public Library in Ames and KWIT-KOJI Public Radio in Sioux City.
Robin’s community involvement included Crawford County “Relay for Life”, publicity and emcee; Secretary of Friends of the Library; Treasurer of Friends of the Pool, Denison Aquatic Fun Center; Crawford County Board Member of American Cancer Society; and employee council representative for the City of Ames employees. On July 27, 2015, Robin was united in marriage to Robert Creasey and they made their home in Denison.
In her leisure time, Robin enjoyed painting pictures, crafting, the arts, reading, and all kinds of music. She was a great animal lover especially having a fondness for her cat Rumi. She enjoyed traveling to many places while she was employed at the travel agency and particularly enjoyed going to Okoboji and staying at the lake. She was a very creative, giving and caring person who enjoyed her family and good friends.
Robin was preceded in death by her grandparents and parents. Survivors include: her husband, Robert; one brother, Val and special friend, Janice; two sisters: Jill and her husband, Ron; and Ann and her husband, Tom; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
