Roger H. Petersen

Roger Henry Petersen was born October 4, 1941, the son of Walter and Hazel Carlson Petersen. He died Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of sixty-nine.
He was born in Schleswig, Iowa. He was baptized in Christ on November 16, 1941, and confirmed on June 9, 1957, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig, Iowa. After graduating from Schleswig High School, he attended the University of South Dakota. Upon his college graduation, he began work as an IRS agent for 30 years while residing in St. Louis, Missouri. He was married to Jill Strobach and to this union, three children were born. He was an avid golfer and could be spotted at any type of sporting event. Always on the move, he traveled the world by cruise ship after retirement. When not cruising, he was visiting grandchildren or trying out a new golf course.

He was preceded in death by parents and one brother, Robert E. Petersen. He is survived by three children: Kevin and his wife, Nora; Kris and his wife, Susan; Kimberly and her husband, Patrick; nine grandchildren: Abby, Will, Cal, Kevin, Mia, Colton, Brooke, Sierra, and Jake; other relatives and friends.
