Roger Kermit Teut was born September 23, 1941, at the home of his parents, Kermit and Irene Teut, at Soldier Township, Crawford County, Iowa. He passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Green Place in Seward, Nebraska, at the age of seventy-seven.
Roger was baptized in Christ October 12, 1941, by Rev. Hans Wagner at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Soldier Township, Charter Oak, Iowa. He later confirmed his faith April 29, 1956, at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Ricketts, Iowa, officiated by Rev. F.A. Wiese. Roger received his education in the Schleswig Community Schools and was a graduate of Schleswig High School with the Class of 1959. Roger was united in marriage to Connie Lafrentz December 28, 1960, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig, Iowa. The couple was blessed with the birth of two children, J’Lynn and Todd, although J’Lynn lived for only a few hours.
Trucking was his life-long career and his passion. He and his brother, Ronald, formed Teut Brothers Trucking which they operated from 1965-1972. Roger continued in the trucking industry after moving to Nebraska until his retirement. He enjoyed buying pickups, sleeping, and watching old westerns, especially John Wayne shows. His grandchildren, however, were the highlight of Roger’s life.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, J’Lynn in infancy; and one brother, Ronald. Survivors include: his son, Todd and his wife, Heather; two grandchildren, Hadley and Bryce; two brothers, Corvin, and Myron and his wife, Sheri; one sister-in-law, Carol; one uncle, Gilbert; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
