Ronald Dillon Totten was born September 14, 1938, at Missouri Valley, Iowa, the son of Emery and Dora Totten. He passed away Monday, March 26, 2018, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of seventy-nine.
Ronald received his education in the Missouri Valley schools and graduated from Missouri Valley High School with the class of 1956. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force in September of 1956 and served his country as a radar operator until being honorably discharged in December of 1964. After returning to the Denison area, he was employed at Farmland for over twenty years.
On August 21, 1958, Ronald was united in marriage to Darlene Bonham and this union was blessed with five children, Earl, Phyllis, Phillip, Timothy and Melvin. Ronald’s passions were working on cars, especially Model A’s, and building remote control airplanes. After retirement, he enjoyed going to Cronk’s for coffee and socializing with friends.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law; one son, Earl; one grandson, Joshua; one great-grandson, Dustin; and two brothers, Richard and Jasper. Survivors include: his wife, Darlene; one daughter, Phyllis and her husband, Willard; three sons, Phillip and his wife, Lisa; Melvin and his wife, Diana; and Timothy; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Roger, Clifford and Otto; one sister, Irene; other relatives and friends.
