Ronald Lary

Ronald Allen Lary, born on July 26, 1958, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He spent his childhood in Dow City under the loving care of his grandparents. A proud graduate of Dow City Schools, Ron was part of the class of 1976. Later that year, in December, Ron married the love of his life, Patricia Midura. Together, they built a life in Dow City filled with love and laughter, raising two wonderful children, Melissa and Adam.

For over 20 years, Ron dedicated his hard work and skills to maintenance at Farmland Foods. However, it was his passion for cars that truly lit up his life. Whether he was attending car shows, tinkering in the garage, or proudly showcasing his cherished 1969 Chevelle, Ron found joy in every moment spent around cars. His Chevelle was not only a prized possession but also a symbol of his dedication and love for the craft, earning him numerous awards over the years.

Ron passed away at his home in Dow City on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the age of 66 years, five months and 13 days. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; wife, Patricia Lary and son, Adam Lary.

Ronald is survived by his daughter, Melissa Lary (Aaron Nielsen) of Omaha, Nebraska; granddaughter, Hannah Nielsen of Omaha; grandson, Chase; and other family members and friends. 

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., with visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Interment will be held in the Dow City Cemetery following the funeral service. Memorials may be directed to the family.
