Rose LaVina Voss Brandt was born July 12, 1932, in Neola, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Laura Voss. She passed away at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa, Saturday, August 15, 2020, at the age of eighty-eight.
Rose worked as a CNA and home health aide most of her life. She grew up and raised her family in the area of Dunlap and Dow City. She later moved to Omaha until she retired from her nursing career and returned to Iowa where she spent the remainder of her life. Rose and George Brandt were united in marriage January 5, 1951.
She was an excellent cook, enjoyed watching westerns and game shows, doing word search puzzles and having an occasional beer with family and friends. She will be missed greatly by all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; one daughter, Pam; one grandson; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; one brother; and three sisters. Survivors include: six children: George and his wife, Jeanie, and Edward and his wife, Ruth, Vicki, Anita, Douglas and his wife, Opal, and Scott; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley and Delores; other relatives and friends.
