Ruth Mae Emma Blair

Ruth Mae Emma (Klink) Blair was born on October 2, 1933 to Otto and Lillie LaVerne (Marolf) Klink in Vail, Iowa. She received her education at a country school in Milford Township. After school, she started babysitting and cleaning houses.

She was united in marriage to Andrew Blair on November 6, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Along with raising her children, she worked at Cronk's Café, the Red Lantern and a couple other restaurants as a cook. She also owned Ruth's Country Kitchen in Kiron. She then worked at Camelot Wesco Industries, retiring after 17 years.

Ruth was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kiron. She was a member of the ladies' aid and helped with funeral luncheons and church fundraisers for many years. She was involved with St. John's quilting . She enjoyed baking, sewing and crocheting. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family. Ruth had a big heart and naturally put other people's needs before her own.

Ruth passed away, surrounded by her family, on October 16, 2021 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital attaining the age of 88 years and 14 days.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andrew Blair on October 17, 2002; granddaughter, Tammy Dean; and two brothers: Frederick and Robert Klink. She is survived by her eight children: Nancy Blair of Kiron, Sandy (Jerry) Bryan of Denison, James (Ronda) Blair of Denison, David (Sherri) Blair of Odebolt, Kenneth (Shelly) Blair of Schleswig, Cheryl (Larry) Goettsch of Ida Grove, Susan (Carman) Hopp of Kiron, and Phillis Banghart of Kiron; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Florence Poggensee of Vail; and many other relatives and friends.

The visitation with the family greeting friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 22, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church in Kiron. Interment will be held in Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Memorials may be directed to the family.
