Ruth Dorothy Tech was born April 2, 1919, the daughter of John and Pearl Savage Nollen. She passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of ninety-two.
She was born in Buck Grove, Iowa, and attended school until the eighth grade. She married Garland Tech on February 2, 1940, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The couple was blessed with the birth of three children: Joan, Roger and Robert. They settled on a farm near Dow City, Iowa, later moving into Dow City. In 1958 they moved to Denison, Iowa.
Ruth was a homemaker, enjoying crocheting and spending Saturday afternoons in uptown Denison. She cherished the time spent with her family, especially when her grandchildren would join her for lunch and soda pop. She was always interested in what was going on with her family and the neighborhood. She liked to watch people and cars go by as she relaxed in her recliner on her porch. In 2003 she moved to Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Garland; one daughter, Joan; two sons: Roger and Robert; five brothers: Jay, Frank, Albert, Ernest, and Chris; five sisters: Hazel, Ethel, Faye, Bertha, and Marie; and one grandson-in-law, Allen. She is survived by one son-in-law, Merlin; seven grandchildren: Heidi; Holly; Larry and his wife, Michelle; Gary and his wife, Shelly; Jodie and her husband; Sharmen and her husband, Charles; Christine and her husband, Greg; fifteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
