Ruth Viola Stewart, 68, of Finksburg passed away on Monday, August 31, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.
Ruth was born on February 24, 1947 in Carroll, Iowa and was the daughter of the late Elmer H. and Eva M. Fisher Nobiling. She was the loving wife of Roy Joe Stewart, her husband of 48 years.
Ruth worked as an administrative professional and was employed at the Department of Defense until she retired in 2005. She enjoyed crafting especially sewing, quilting, and knitting of which she taught several classes. She also enjoyed playing golf. She was a member of the Vision Quilters, Ellicott City; Everybody's Quilt Guild, Westminster; and Quail Valley's Ladies Golf League, Littlestown, PA. She was also an active council member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Deer Park and helped with various functions including the Christmas Bazaar, Silent Auction, Ads Book, Helping Hands, the Dutch Picnic and Property Committees. She was involved with many various community organizations.
She was predeceased by an infant brother David . Surviving in addition to her husband are son and daughter-in-law Scott and Maureen Stewart of Sykesville, daughter and son-in-law Shelli and Mark Giardino of Loxahatchee, FL; granddaughter Kaitlyn Stewart of Atlanta, GA; siblings Lee Nobiling of Council Bluffs, IA, Edna Hansman of Westside, IA, Clayton Nobiling of Denison, IA, Karen Onken of Jamaica, Dale Nobiling of Council Bluffs, IA; and many extended loving family and group of friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to the Zion Lutheran Church, Arcadia, Iowa, or the Lungevity Foundation (longevity.org)
