Scott Lee Namanny was born September 2, 1958, the son of Kenneth and Dorothy Ullrich Namanny. He passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 53.
Scott was born in Denison, Iowa. He attended grade school at Denison Community Schools and then graduated from high school at Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri, in 1976. He attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa, after graduation. Scott worked at IBP and Cuttys and then Farmland Foods for the past 17 years.
Scott enjoyed sports and followed the Iowa Hawkeyes football team and Baltimore Orioles baseball teams. He was a league bowler and would play golf in his spare time. Scott also loved to hunt for mushrooms and pheasants and one of his favorite fishing spots was the Sandbar Beach in Spirit Lake, Iowa. His music of choice to listen to was rock and roll and John Wayne films and other westerns were what he liked to watch on television.
Survivors include his son, Nathan; his mother, Dorothy, both of Denison; one brother, Bruce Namanny and his wife, Cathy of Schleswig; one niece, Morgan Martin and her husband, Derek; one nephew, Kenny Namanny; special friend, Jane Edsen of Denison; other relatives and friends.
