Sharon K. Baker

February 2, 1943 — October 23, 2015

Sharon Kay Baker was born February 2, 1943 in Kiron, Iowa, the daughter of Rule and Dorothy Jenkins. She passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, at the age of seventy-two.
Sharon was raised in Crawford County and educated in Kiron. On March 5, 1961, she was united in marriage to Wayne Baker at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. The couple was blessed with one daughter, Lisa.
Sharon loved to travel and took yearly trips to Texas with Wayne. She collected porcelain dolls and was great at crafting and crocheting. Sharon loved to watch crime shows and courtroom TV and she also was a big fan of playing games and checking in with family and friends on Facebook on her Ipad. She enjoyed being outdoors and always had a beautiful flower garden. Sharon was involved in all facets of farm life: raising chickens, milking cows, and preparing Sunday dinners for the family. Her dog, Henry, was her trusted companion whom she loved very much. Most of all, Sharon loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. They were her joy and her world.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, and two brothers: Ronald and Dale. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Wayne; her daughter Lisa and her husband Bob; eight grandchildren: Joshua and his wife Michelle; Jennifer; Jay; Kimberlie; Laury, Lisa; Lesley; and Natasha; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister Rena and her husband Carroll; two sisters-in-law Diane, and Marge Overhue and her husband Al; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends; and, her beloved friend, Henry.
