Shelley Anne Snavely was born March 2, 1976, the daughter of Charles and Judy Gorden. She died Thursday, June 2, 2016, at her home in Denison, at the age of forty years and three months.
Shelley was born in Denison, Iowa, and raised in Dow City, Iowa. She attended the Boyer Valley School District, graduating with the class of 1994. Shelley continued her education at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs where she studied Early Childhood Education. She was united in marriage to Justin Snavely and the couple was blessed with the birth of five children. In 2010, Shelley began working at Tyson Foods in Denison and at Pizza Hut in 2012.
Shelley was a loving and kind mother, daughter, aunt and friend. She always put her children first and would do anything for anybody. In her spare time, Shelley enjoyed listening to music and reading mystery and romance novels. She was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Braves and NASCAR, her favorite driver being Kasey Kahne. She collected unicorns and loved fishing and camping with her children.
Shelley is survived by her children: Nicholas; Mercedes, Rian, Blade and Lexus; her parents, Charlie and Judy; one brother, Scott and his wife, Micah; nieces, nephews: Alex, Abie, Kemper, Isaac and Zach; many other relatives and friends.
