Sherri Lorraine Lamaak

Sherri Lorraine Lamaak was born on September 2, 1972, in Longmont, Colorado. She was the daughter of Russell and Karlen (Neumann) Watson. She completed her education at Denison High School in 1990. Sherri's passion for learning began at an early age and continued throughout her life.

On May 19, 2001, Sherri was united in marriage with Jeffrey Lamaak. To this union, they were blessed with four children: Zach, Freddie, Karlen, and Summer. They made their home in Denison.

Sherri's career was diverse and reflective of her hardworking nature. Throughout the years, she held various jobs that showcased her versatility and commitment. From working at Days Inn, IBP, Twin Valley Veterinary Clinic, Office Stop, Denison Senior Center, Denison City Pound, and Walmart. Sherri always brought her strong work ethic and kind spirit to any role she took on.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Sherri generously devoted her time to serving others. She volunteered at TOPS. She was a lifelong patron of the Denison Library, finding solace and joy in the world of books. Sherri also enjoyed participating in "Crafter Noon" activities and "Color Me Calm" sessions that allowed her creative side to flourish.

Sherri found immense joy in pursuing various hobbies and interests. She had a profound love for books, crafting, puzzles, beading, and fishing. She took delight in watching birds and tending to flowers. In her earlier years, Sherri enjoyed attending the races. Sherri's family was at the center of her universe, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Sherri's memory will live on within the hearts of those fortunate to have known her.

She passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at her home in Denison on her 51^st birthday. She was preceded in death by her two children: Freddie Russell and Karlen Marion; and parents-in-law, Freddie and Marion Lamaak.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Lamaak of Denison; son, Zach Lamaak and his fiancée Dezaray Tracy of Denison; daughter, Summer Lamaak of Denison; granddaughters: Lola, Layla, and Lilly Beam of Denison; grandson, Quintin Tracy of Des Moines; parents: Russ and Karlen Watson of Dow City; brother, Darrin Watson and his wife Chela of Glen Burnie, Maryland; nephews: Gabriel, DJ, Josiah, and Elijah Watson all of Glen Burnie, Maryland; other relatives and friends.

Per Sherri’s wishes, she has been cremated and there will not be any services.
