Shirley A. Christensen

Shirley Ann Christensen was born September 8, 1942, the daughter of Einer and Sophie Jensen Christensen. She passed away Friday, July 8, 2014 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa at the age of seventy-one.
Shirley grew up in the Dow City area, graduating with the class of 1960 from the Dow City School. She lived with her father until his death. She then moved to the Denison Care Center where she wrote the “Here and There” column for the “Denison B” paper at the Care Center. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Care Center as well as writing get well cards to residents at the Care Center when they were in the hospital. Shirley was strong in her faith and regularly attended the church services at the Care Center. She was a loving a caring friend, always with a smile, who enjoyed socializing.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include one cousin, Eva Jensen of Dow City.
