Shirley J. Meiners

July 6, 1956 — August 12, 2019

Shirley Joy (Tague) Meiners was born on July 6, 1956, to Oral & Joyce Tague in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She passed away on August 12, 2019 at the age of sixty-three years, one month, six days surrounded by her loved ones.
In 1974, she graduated at mid-semester from Abraham Lincoln High School and attended a business college in Grand Island, NE. After completing college, she moved and resided in Manilla.
In 1981, she met Dale Meiners while participating in a Bowling League and on February 5, 1983, they were united in marriage. After enjoying being a stay-at-home mother to her three children (Zachery, Tanya, & Jonathan), she started working at CDS in Harlan, Iowa, where she was employed for 27 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Some of her passions included baking, crafting, spa days with the granddaughters, and cheering her grandkids on during their activities. She enjoyed traveling with her kids all over the states.
One of the best characteristics was her creativeness. She loved showing this trait with making homemade costumes for parades and Halloween. While her children were growing up, she enjoyed volunteering her time being a CCD teacher and a Girl Scouts Leader along with helping with 4-H and Boy Scouts. A few hobbies she enjoyed were participating in Bridge Club, making ceramics, and planting gardens and flowers for her daughters-in-law with her granddaughters. She will be remembered for being a dedicated wife, a faithful mother, a loving daughter, sister and friend.
She is survived by her husband Dale, mother Joyce, sisters Linda (Paul), and Vicki (Duane); brothers-in-law Mike, and Mike (Judy); sisters-in-law Patti (Chad), and Carol (Everett); children Zachery (Carrissa), Tanya (Roger), and Jonathan (Kara); ten grandchildren: (Riley, Emmie, Oriah, Ethan, Aylin, Alec, Abigail, Jazmyne, Benjamin, and Isaac); many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father Oral, sister Shelley, father-in-law and mother-in-law Herman & Irene.
