Shirley R. Lee

Shirley Lee, age 81, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in Denison, Iowa. She was born near Charter Oak, Iowa to Herbert and Elsie Hinrichsen on September 7, 1932. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ute, Iowa and remained a member there for many years.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday August 23, 2014 at 11 A.M. with a reception following with family and friends.
Shirley graduated from Ute High School with the class of 1950 and made her home in the Ute area for many years. She was employed at the Ute State Bank until her retirement. She lived in the Mapleton and Lytton area before moving to Sioux City in 2002. After moving to Sioux City she made many friends and enjoyed her Friday card club, bowling, and swimming. She was member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City until her relocation to Denison due to health concerns. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She leaves to mourn one daughter, Cindy and her husband Tom, two grandsons, Tyler and Linsey; and Heath, one granddaughter, Heather and friend John, two great-granddaughters, Abigail and Sydney, one great-grandson, Cormac, one brother Roger and his wife Janice, one sister, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Lowell, Earl, and Orval, Sisters-in-laws, Laberta (Earl), Patricia (Lowell), and Sharon (Orval); brother-in-law Clark (Joyce) a nephew, Steven, niece Tami.
