Steve Nelson

Private Family Graveside Services will be held Saturday.

Steven John Nelson was born July 29, 1959, the son of Kenneth, Sr. and Evelyn Heue Nelson. He passed away suddenly on Monday, June 17, 2013, in Vail, Iowa, at the age of 53.
Steve was born in Carroll, Iowa. He received his education in the Ar-We-Va Community Schools graduating with the class of 1978.
Steve was a kind, considerate, and conscientious man always willing to lend a helping hand and he lovingly cared for his mother. In his younger years Steve enjoyed going dancing, especially square dancing as well as round dancing. In more recent years Steve accompanied his sister Mary Kay to dances in Arcadia. He was a devoted employee and member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail, serving as the custodian of the church, a Eucharistic Minister, and mowing St. Anns Cemetery. He also worked for the City of Vail.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Nelson, Jr. and his wife, Beverly; and one brother-in-law, David Lange. Survivors include one sister, Mary Kay Lange of Elk Horn, Iowa; two nieces and three nephews; and one aunt, JoAnn Vogel of Carroll, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
