Susan “Susie” Fae Wulf Higginbottom (62) peacefully made her way to heaven on Friday, May 22nd, 2020.
Susie was born November 28, 1957, in Denison, Iowa, and was the oldest child of Arnold and Betty Braasch Wulf. She was baptized into Christ April 15, 1958, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. She was later confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Deloit May 21, 1972. Receiving her education in the Denison Community, Susie was with the graduating class of 1976 from Denison High.
Spending her working career in the restaurant industry as a cook, her first job was at Joanies in Deloit. She was later employed at Job Corps as a cook and security guard, Wesco Industries, then at Community Caf and Ampride in Denison.
She was united in marriage to Bradley Grage. They were blessed with two sons, Edward (Ed) and Eric both of whom Susie was so proud of and loved wholeheartedly. On January 12, 1991, she was united in marriage to Sherman Higginbottom and they made their home in Deloit. Following Sherman’s death in 2017, Susie continued to reside in Deloit, a town which she loved, until her failing health required her to become a resident of Dunlap Speciality Care for the last eighteen days.
Susie enjoyed life, family members and many friends. She was always there to brighten the lives of others. One of her many talents was sewing, she could do just about anything on a sewing machine. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, going to the casinos with Eric and hollering "BINGO!". Many memories and laughs were made playing Euchre & Phase 10 with her loved ones. She enjoyed listening to country music and the oldies. The Young and the Restless, Price is Right, the Hallmark Channel and the Waltons were the television shows that she most enjoyed watching. Susie was the most loving Grandmother to her Granddaughter Emma who is 5. The two of them shared a truly special bond. The love they shared will last forever in our hearts.
Left behind to cherish her memory are: Ed,Tracy and Emma Grage of Manchester, Iowa; Eric Grage and special friend, Brandi of Deloit, Iowa; one stepson, Brian Higginbottom and wife, Janelle of Denison, Iowa; her brother, Rick Wulf and her sister, Sandy Wulf, both of Deloit, Iowa; as well as other relatives and friends. Susie will be welcomed with open arms by her parents, Arnie & Bets and her husband, Sherman.
