Terry Wallace Deiber was born April 12, 1949, in Denison, Iowa, the son of Wallace and Bernadine Deiber. He passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of seventy.
Terry was baptized into Christ April 18, 1949, at the Denison Hospital and confirmed his faith May 19, 1963, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla, Iowa. Terry grew up on a farm near Manilla, Iowa, until 1965 when the family moved to a farm near Buck Grove. He received his education in the Manilla and Denison Community Schools and graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1967.
Terry was drafted into the United States Army March 5, 1969, and served his country during the Vietnam War in the Light Weapons Infantry. He was honorably discharged December 5, 1970, obtaining the rank of E-4. Terry was united in marriage with Judy Lambert April 17, 1971, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Dow City. His employment career centered around truck driving in the agricultural industry, as he transported feed for Empire Feed Service, Denison Seed and FAC.
A quiet person, Terry had a strong faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He loved college football and basketball, mostly following the Iowa teams. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports and in earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son. Reading westerns, particularly Louis L’Amour books, woodworking, feeding birds and squirrels and attending auctions and garage sales were Terry’s favorite pastimes. He loved spending time with his family, especially seeing his grandchildren.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Judy; one son, Dan and his wife, Candace; four grandchildren; one brother, Stanley and his wife, Debbie; other relatives and friends
