Theresa A. Dieter

Theresa Ann Dieter was born February 25, 1932, the daughter of Earl and Laura Graham. She died Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at the St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll, Iowa, at the age of eighty-four.
Theresa was born in Vail, Iowa, where she grew up and received her education at the Vail Community School. She was united in marriage to John Dieter on August 21, 1950, at St. Ann’s Catholic School Chapel in Vail. The couple made their home on a farm near Vail and was blessed with ten children.
Theresa was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a deep Christian faith and was very active in St. Ann Catholic Church serving as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteering on the St. Ann’s Parish Team. She was always willing to help others and served as treasurer of the Vail Swimming Pool Association. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, attending garage sales, fishing, traveling on bus trips, playing cards, and socializing with family and friends especially her birthday coffee club. Theresa was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2012; parents and one grandchild. Survivors include three sons: Tony and his wife, Debbi; Paul and his wife, Deb; Michael and his wife, Lisa; seven daughters: Mary and her husband, Mike; Teri ; Laurie and her husband, Kenny ; Ann and her husband, Jim; Joleen and her husband, Dale; Kathleen and her husband, Doug and Jennifer and her husband, Peter; twenty grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl and his wife, Sharon; one sister, Mary; many other friends and relatives.
