Tommy Joe Miller was born June 4, 1959, in Denison, Iowa, the son of Allen and Betty Miller. He passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of fifty-nine. Tom was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. Tom grew up in Denison and received his education in the Denison Community Schools, graduating from Denison High School with the class of 1977.
Following his high school graduation, Tom was employed at Farmland Foods in Denison from 1978 until 1981. He then furthered his education at Northwest Missouri State University and received a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1986. Tom was employed for eight years at Burd and Fletcher Printing Company in Kansas City until 1994 when he returned to Denison, where he again worked for Farmland Foods until his health forced his retirement.
Fishing at Yellowsmoke, Lake View and local ponds was a favorite leisure-time activity as was just being outdoors. He enjoyed musicals and was an Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Tom was passionate about politics and issues of human interest. Spending time with his family was very special to him and his grandsons were the joy of his life.
Tom was preceded in death by his father Allen, and one brother-in-law, Robert. Survivors include: his wife, Beverly; four daughters: Holly and her husband, Chad; Elizabeth "Libby"; Diana and her husband, Rick, and Kacie and special friend, Ian; three grandsons: Carter,Cooper and Jayden; his mother, Betty; one brother, Harris and his wife, Anna; three sisters: Alana and her husband, John; Amy, and Angela; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
