Unabell M. Frehse

UnaBell Mae Frehse was born December 26, 1933, at rural Ricketts, Iowa, the daughter of Titus and Lillian Gloede. She passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-five.
UnaBell was baptized into Christ February 29, 1934, by Pastor Otto Van Gumming at the family farm home. She confirmed her faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Soldier Township, March 30, 1947, officiated by Rev. M.J. Haerther. UnaBell received her education in the rural school near her home and graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1952.
Following graduation, UnaBell was employed by the Denison Telephone Company for eight years. She was united in marriage to Harold Frehse January 30, 1955, and the couple was blessed with the birth of three children: Jeff, Craig and Candace. UnaBell was a stay-at-home mom for many years. She later opened her own consignment shop “Bring, Browse and Buy” in 1974 which she operated for ten years. UnaBell then enjoyed helping her daughter in her business “Kidsville” and also enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren.
UnaBell enjoyed seeing her grandchildren’s many activities and loved being with family and friends and taking part in church activities at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, especially the many Bible classes that she attended through the years. She was a member of Zion’s Evening Guild for many years and was secretary for the Altar Guild for three years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Harold in 2017; three brothers, Victor, Wilbur and Alvin; four sisters, Hildegard and her husband, Carl, Elvira and her husband, Jack, Frances and Evelyn. Survivors include: three children: Jeff and his wife, Deb, Craig and his wife, Tamie, and Candy and her husband, Tim; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Darlene; other relatives and friends
