Virginia C. Boger was born December 26, 1927, the daughter of James and Lillie Dixon. She passed away Friday, July 10, 2015, at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-seven.
Virginia was born in Westside, Iowa. After completing her education she moved to Omaha, where she worked at Kilpatricks Department Store. She was united in marriage to Clarence Boger on September 5, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church, Denison by Rev. C.W. Schmidt. After Clarence’s discharge from the Army, the couple made their home in the Denison area. Virginia worked as a seamstress independently for awhile and later at Reynold’s Clothing Store doing alterations there for more than thirty years.
Virginia was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Denison, where she was confirmed on December 25, 1953. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose first priority was her family. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, especially rosebushes and her houseplants. In her leisure time she and Clarence enjoyed bus trips with their friends to many parts of the United States. She also enjoyed nature, family gatherings and fishing trips to Spirit Lake and Lake View.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence in 2010; and an infant daughter, Pennie Lea. Survivors include: two daughters; Monica and her husband, David; Robin and her husband, Keith; one son, Clint; 5 grandchildren, Justin and Andrea; Caitlin; Joshua, Bryan and Kayla; Kara; 2 great-grandchildren, Emily and Allison,; three sisters-in-law, Erma; Jenell; and Mary; brother-in-law, Merlin; and many other relatives and friends.
