Walter Eugene Miller was born January 13, 1952, at Denison, Iowa, the son of Myron and Elnora Miller. He passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at his home at rural Kiron, Iowa, at the age of sixty-five.
Walter was baptized in Christ November 24, 1963, at the First Baptist Church in Kiron and was confirmed as an adult at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison August 26, 1973. He attended Odebolt Community Schools and subsequently attended Northwest Iowa Technical College in Sheldon, Iowa, graduating in 1971. He was united in marriage to Janie Schmidt September 21, 1973, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and they were blessed with the birth of two children, Jay and Sarah.
He was employed as an auto mechanic and as a diesel mechanic until 1989, when he opened Miller Repair on his home farm at rural Kiron. He began farming in 1976 and in 1990, he started Miller Windrowing and Baling.
Farming and fixing equipment and household items were his favorite things to do. He enjoyed watching sports on television in the winter but enjoyed being outside in the summer. Attending his grandchildren’s activities also brought him great pleasure. His life revolved around Faith, Family and Farming.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: his wife, Janie; one son, Jay and his wife, Kathy; and one daughter, Sarah and her husband, Jimmie; six grandchildren: Megan, Chance, Tevin, Easton, Haley and Breah; three great-grandchildren; Brayden, GraceLynn, and Mariah; four brothers: Jimmy and his wife, Marilyn; Michael; Merle and his wife, Deb; and Kyle and his wife, Vicki; two sisters: Jeannine and her husband, Ken, and Hazel and her husband, David; other relatives and friends.
